The American Secretary of State John Kerry has warned Syria the plans for it to hand over its chemical weapons are not agame.

At a news conference, ahead of the talkswith his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, Mr. Kerry said Syria's actions hadto be real, comprehensive and timely.

The Russian Foreign Minister said asuccessful outcome would make a strike on Syria unnecessary and he voiced thehope that it might also serve to brave life into a wider political process.

John Kerry was emphatic, only the threat offorce had persuaded Syria to acknowledge its chemical arsenal, and in a directreference to President Assad's interview on Russian television in which theSyrian leader spoke of, what he called, a standard procedure for handing overdocuments relating to chemical weapons within 30 days.

約翰•克裡強調一點，只有武力威脅才能夠說服敘利亞承認他的化學武器軍備，同時他直接談到阿薩德總統在接受俄羅斯電視臺的訪問時，以敘利亞領導人的身份稱道，在30天之內就完成了提交與化學武器相關檔的標準化步驟。

The United Nations has received a formalletter from the Syrian government stating its intention to join theinternational treaty controlling chemical weapons.

“Codified in the early 90's and agreed toby all but five nations, the treaty bans the production, stockpiling and use ofthese deadly weapons.

Under its terms, Syria has 60 days toprovide a detailed inventory of all its chemical weapons agents relatedmunitions and production facilities.

The Assad regime would have to detail theexact locations of its stockpiles, and open them to inspection by theinternational watchdog, the organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons.”

A judge in London has allowed a Muslimwoman to appear at a court hearing wearing her veil.

It's thought to be the first time that thishas been allowed in an English courtroom.

NASA has confirmed that the Voyager-1spacecraft has become the first man-made object to leave the solar system.

The probe was launched 36 years ago, butscientists believe it left our solar system last August; it's now nearly 19billion kilometers from Earth in what's known as interstellar space, a cold,dark part of the Milky Way.

The announcement was made today at NASA'sheadquarters in Washington by Ed Stone, project scientist for the Voyagermission.
